Montage Project

So, this montage is about a Nuclear Bomb that has been dropped by these two airplanes in a little town. The story for this montage is these airplanes come into this little town in the middle of nowhere and they dropped a nuclear bomb right on top of it destroying everything that existed in the little town. So, the reason I chose these pictures for this montage is because the sadness they have left the people that have survived the bomb. Also, the reason why I put a guy with the gas mask in there is because people and the government are going to need to use one of those in order to survive the nuclear chemicals that are airborne. The only way I was able to accomplish this montage was the layer mask tool.

  1. Images: I gave you, Joshua Cincota, a 3/5 on his montage because as an image it was easy to see a message. At first glance this image looks like any other regular image, but as you begin to really observe it, some meaning comes together. But there were many parts about this image I did not like. Some of these images where not put together very creatively. You could have tried to merge the images in a more creative way.

Image manipulation: The reason I gave you a 3/5 on this category is because you found ways to blend and merge images, but most of the images looked like they were just cut or copied and pasted on the montage. But this picture also has its good side, all the images that where on this montage where connected in some way. These images also where placed in appropriate places. No images were placed in any places that would have ruined the meaning of this montage. But I do not see much manipulation in the images.

Collage: I was not sure if giving you a 5/5 on this category was a good idea but once I closely looked at the image I saw lots of meaning. This montage was telling me a story, communicating to me about what might happen if something like that would occur. Even though this image had limited manipulation, it still had great meaning from just the images that were place where they were and what images were used. You might have not had much manipulation, but this montage probably didn’t need it to look as great as it does. So overall this was your strongest point.

Reflection: So the reflection on your image I felt was the weakest category. You did not use and sophisticated language. Basically you kept it a little too simple. You did however use the right amount of sentences. And mentioned why and how you used your images. That is why I decided to give you a 3/5. Just try to use more higher form of vocabulary next time you write a reflection.
